On November 12, 2024, SBM Offshore marked a milestone in the development of the Jaguar FPSO<\/strong> with a steel cutting ceremony at the Guyana Shore Base Incorporated (GYSBI) base. This event marks the start of the fabrication of over 300 metric tons of essential components for the Jaguar Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), a key unit in ExxonMobil\u2019s offshore project<\/a><\/strong> in the waters of Guyana. <\/p>\n\n

FPSO Jaguar boosts Whiptail project in Guyana<\/h2>\n\n

The construction of the Jaguar FPSO is a key step in the development of ExxonMobil\u2019s Whiptail project<\/a><\/strong> on the Stabroek block. This project, which is being carried out in collaboration with local companies Industrial Fabrications Incorporated (InFab), Guyana Oil and Gas Support Services Incorporated (GOGSSI) and Zeco Group of Services, highlights the growth potential of the Guyanese energy industry. <\/p>\n\n

SBM Offshore<\/a><\/strong> is responsible for manufacturing the floating unit, which has a production capacity of 250,000 barrels of oil per day<\/strong> and an associated gas treatment capacity of 540 million cubic feet per day.<\/p>\n\n

SBM Offshore, in addition to leading the construction of the Jaguar FPSO<\/a><\/strong> , has also entered into an agreement with ExxonMobil<\/a><\/strong> for the transfer of ownership of the unit prior to its installation in Guyana. In addition, the company has committed to operate the FPSO for the next 10 years<\/strong> , consolidating its presence in this important offshore market. <\/p>\n\n
