The Navarra Industry Association (AIN), in collaboration with 11 partners, has launched the ambitious European CARMA-H2 project<\/strong> . Funded by the European Union, this initiative aims to convert waste into green hydrogen, thus supporting the energy transition and decarbonisation in Europe<\/a><\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n

Energy efficiency with CARMA-H2 in Navarra<\/h2>\n\n

The project is being carried out at the Arazuri treatment plant in Navarra, where the technology developed will enable the direct production of renewable, purified and pressurised hydrogen<\/a><\/strong> . A highlight is that, in addition to generating clean hydrogen, CARMA-H2 will also recover food-grade CO\u2082<\/strong> through liquefaction, supporting the circular economy. Efficient waste gas management underlines the commitment to sustainable solutions and maximising energy efficiency. <\/p>\n\n

CARMA-H2 will introduce an integrated modular reactor<\/strong> , transforming the traditional waste conversion process. Instead of the usual six steps, it will be executed in a single operation, significantly increasing energy efficiency. This advancement is essential to optimize the use of biogas<\/a><\/strong> in local communities, making the production of renewable hydrogen in smaller plants viable. <\/p>\n\n

Biogas, a key source in Europe\u2019s fight against climate change<\/a><\/strong> , is harnessed here to minimise CO\u2082 emissions. As the European Union strives to reduce net emissions to zero by 2050<\/strong> , projects such as CARMA-H2<\/a><\/strong> offer innovative and practical solutions, benefiting both the environment and the local economy. <\/p>\n\n
