This technological equipment makes the S80 class one of the most sophisticated submarine models in the world. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installation of the AIP system and other technologies<\/h2>\n\n<p>The <em>AIP system<\/em> allows the submarine to generate hydrogen on board, using a process that uses <strong>bioethanol<\/strong> , an alcohol produced in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner. This hydrogen, together with oxygen stored on the submarine, is used to produce electricity, by means of a fuel cell, which recharges the <strong>S-83&#8217;s batteries<\/strong> and allows it to remain submerged up to two to three times longer. This adjustment promotes the sustainability and performance of submarines.  <\/p>\n\n<p>One of the exceptional aspects of this technology is the ability to operate at any depth and in multiple operational conditions, giving the S-83 unparalleled flexibility in naval missions. This positions <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/navantia-marine-substation-in-france\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"156308\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Navantia<\/a><\/strong> &#8216;s AIP system as the most advanced in its category. <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>S80 class submarines<\/strong> are the only ones in the world in the 3,000 ton range to possess this innovative AIP technology.
