This <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/flexible-and-agile-robot-mouse-called-nermo\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"112250\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">flexible, snake-like robot<\/a><\/strong> has been designed to slither and extend into hard-to-reach areas such as rubble, pipes and other narrow spaces, offering a safe and effective tool in emergencies. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">RoBoa Technology and Features<\/h2>\n\n<p>RoBoa is built from soft materials and moves using a pneumatic system that prevents sparks, which is crucial in areas at risk of explosion. In addition, <strong>the robot is capable of reaching a length of up to 100 meters<\/strong> , allowing it to reach areas where human rescuers would not be able to safely access. Its flexibility and strength allow it to operate in extreme conditions, making it a valuable resource in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/swarms-of-drones-forest-fires\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"141600\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">emergency management<\/a><\/strong> .  <\/p>\n\n<p>One of RoBoa\u2019s most notable features is its ability to communicate directly with trapped people. Equipped with speakers and microphones, <strong>the robot facilitates contact between rescuers and victims<\/strong> , providing an essential line of communication in high-pressure situations. The robot\u2019s upcoming unveiling at the ETH Industry Day on 21 November 2024 in Zurich marks a decisive step on its path to being deployed in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/video-tv\/avion-electrico-para-rescates-en-eeuu\/\" data-type=\"video-tv\" data-id=\"102496\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rescue and emergency<\/a><\/strong> sector.
