{"id":203108,"date":"2024-11-05T15:33:48","date_gmt":"2024-11-05T19:33:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/the-solar-panel-factory-in-jeddah\/"},"modified":"2024-11-05T15:37:27","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T19:37:27","slug":"the-solar-panel-factory-in-jeddah","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/the-solar-panel-factory-in-jeddah\/","title":{"rendered":"Desert Technologies to invest over $200 million in solar panel factory"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Solar energy expert <strong>Desert Technologies<\/strong> has announced an investment of 750 million Saudi riyals ($200 million) to establish a new solar panel manufacturing plant in Jeddah&#8217;s Third Industrial Zone, Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A solar panel factory in Saudi Arabia<\/h2>\n\n<p>With an estimated production capacity of 5 GW, this facility aims to meet the growing demand for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/voltalia-taqa-arabia-cluster-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"168136\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">solar energy<\/a><\/strong> in the local market and position the Kingdom as an exporter of renewable technology in the global market.<\/p>\n\n<p>The plant will occupy a space of 170,000 square meters and will be developed in collaboration with the <strong>Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones<\/strong> ( <em>Modon<\/em> ), which has provided the land for the project. The factory will have a production line for 2 GW of solar panels and another for 3 GW of photovoltaic cells, thus covering the entire production process to meet the demand for solar solutions from Desert Technologies and third parties. <\/p>\n\n<p>This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia\u2019s national strategy to boost <strong>green energy production<\/strong> and reduce its dependence on oil.
