In addition, the <strong>Axial Skelter<\/strong> can be disassembled into modular segments for quick repairs, eliminating the need for specialized and expensive offshore support vessels. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advantages of the Axial Skelter<\/h2>\n\n<p>It is important to note that the converter has been designed to be environmentally friendly. It has no sharp edges or fast moving parts that can affect marine life, minimising its impact on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/this-will-be-the-next-mission-of-belle-the-robot-fish\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"91074\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ocean ecosystems<\/a><\/strong> . In addition, its components are made from completely recyclable plastics, promoting a circular economy.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Operationally, this system has an estimated cost of <strong>\u00a31 million per unit<\/strong> , including all state-of-the-art structures and equipment.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Spiralis Energy<\/strong> \u2019s goal is ambitious: to power <strong>11% of the UK\u2019s national electricity grid<\/strong> with tidal energy by 2028. Current trials of the <strong>Axial Skelter<\/strong> in the tidal streams of Alderney in the Channel Islands are aimed at fine-tuning its performance ahead of larger-scale commercial deployment.
