Amasus has signed a second agreement with the Spanish company bound4blue to install the world’s largest suction sail system<\/strong> on one of its general cargo vessels<\/a><\/strong> . This new contract will allow the installation of a 22-metre-high eSAIL on a 90-metre-long, 2,876-tonne deadweight vessel, which is being reconditioned at the Astander Shipyard in Santander. <\/p>\n\n

The eSAIL\u00ae system, developed by bound4blue, is a wind-assisted propulsion<\/a><\/strong> solution designed to improve fuel efficiency and reduce polluting emissions, making it an attractive option for shipowners interested in sustainability and reducing operating costs. This agreement is particularly relevant for Amasus, which has already successfully implemented the system on the Eems Traveller vessel<\/a><\/strong> , achieving a significant reduction in fuel usage<\/a><\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n

The eSAIL technology works by drawing air across its aerodynamic surface, allowing it to generate propulsion efficiently and autonomously, without requiring intervention from the crew.
