A group of students from the Federal School of Technology in Lausanne have achieved something unprecedented in Europe: landing a reusable rocket, marking a new achievement in space exploration<\/a><\/strong> by engineering trainees. This project is led by the Gruy\u00e8re Space Program (GSP), which began in 2018 with the mission of creating a small reusable demonstrator called Colibr\u00ed. <\/p>\n\n

On October 18, GSP proudly announced the success of the test flight, where the Colibri rocket ascended 105 meters and completed a controlled landing<\/strong> back to the launch pad. This flight lasted 60 seconds, with a horizontal trajectory of 30 meters before returning precisely to its starting point. <\/p>\n\n

The rocket is powered by an F-100 bipropellant engine<\/a><\/strong> , which was designed by the students themselves. This engine generates 1.2 kN of thrust and the entire project was completed on a budget of less than 250,000 Swiss francs<\/strong> , demonstrating the ability and creativity of these young engineers. <\/p>\n\n
