Lhyfe<\/strong> has started construction of its largest green hydrogen plant<\/strong> in Le Cheylas, located in the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region of France. This project improves the decarbonisation of industry and mobility in the area, and its capacity to produce 4 tonnes of green hydrogen per day marks a major step towards a cleaner future. <\/p>\n\n

Lhyfe’s largest green hydrogen plant <\/h2>\n\n

The plant occupies a plot of land of 7,000 m\u00b2 and is designed to take advantage of locally generated electricity, using water electrolysis to produce clean hydrogen. In addition, the facility is expected to begin operations in early 2026, and will contribute to the reduction of polluting emissions in sectors such as heavy transport and the chemical industry. <\/p>\n\n

This new development will help reindustrialise an area that was historically a brownfield. The site of the former Ascom\u00e9ta l steelworks<\/strong> will be transformed into an innovative production centre, thanks to SLS Actiparc<\/strong> , the current owner of the land, which has worked to revitalise the area. <\/p>\n\n

The Le Cheylas plant<\/strong> is part of a broader regional strategy to foster sustainable mobility and low-emission industry. Lhyfe has signed a contract to supply 600 tonnes of hydrogen per year with the HYmpulsion network of stations<\/strong> , which supplies the Alps and other nearby regions, contributing to the improvement of air quality in the Alpine valleys. <\/p>\n\n

Financial support and European collaboration<\/h2>\n\n

This project has received support from the European Union<\/strong> through the Just Transition Fund<\/strong> , with a grant of 5.5 million euros, in addition to another 750,000 euros granted by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership<\/strong> within the IMAGHyNE project<\/strong> . This European project, in which Lhyfe<\/em> is one of the main partners, seeks to accelerate the development of the large-scale hydrogen economy<\/a><\/strong> in the region, promoting a clean and efficient energy system. <\/p>\n\n

According to Matthieu Guesn\u00e9, founder and CEO of Lhyfe<\/strong> , the plant represents a major step towards achieving carbon neutrality goals in the region and across Europe. The company has already installed other hydrogen plants in France and Germany, consolidating its position as a leader in the sector. <\/p>\n\n
