With years of experience in handling fuels such as LNG<\/a><\/strong> and methanol<\/a><\/strong> , Alfa Laval has been developing technological solutions to enable ammonia<\/a> to become a safe and efficient energy source<\/strong> . Through key partnerships with companies such as WinGD, the company has made important progress, validating its ammonia supply systems, which will be ready for testing by the end of 2024. <\/p>\n\n

Ammonia, considered a key fuel in efforts to reduce carbon emissions, is gaining ground in the marine industry<\/a><\/strong> due to its potential to achieve zero-emissions goals. Alfa Laval has recently expanded its collaboration with WinGD, ABS and K Shipbuilding to design an ammonia-fuelled<\/strong> tanker<\/strong> . This project will also include a dual-fuel boiler system that will take advantage of purge gas to optimise energy efficiency and ensure operational safety. <\/p>\n\n

With these initiatives, the company continues to advance in its ambition to lead the transformation of the naval industry towards a sustainable future, focused on reducing the carbon footprint<\/a><\/strong> and promoting the use of “green fuels”.<\/p>\n\n
