This project, built in the Lingang area of Shanghai, is the largest and most technologically advanced in the country, highlighting its focus on energy security and sustainable development. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The 300 MW gas turbine ignition test<\/h2>\n\n<p>This turbine has been developed entirely in China and will compete globally with the <strong>most advanced F-class units<\/strong> currently operating in the world. This start-up is the result of more than eight years of research towards the validation of its design, test systems and functionality. <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>unit&#8217;s efficiency<\/strong> is remarkable, with an efficiency of 55% in combined cycle plants, higher than conventional thermal power plants, which only achieve 35-46%. In addition, its capacity to generate 450,000 kilowatts per hour in a single configuration represents one eighth of Beijing&#8217;s electricity consumption. <\/p>\n\n<p>Minister of <strong>Industry and Information Technology<\/strong> Jin Zhuanglong stressed that the successful start-up confirms the turbine\u2019s design and manufacturing quality, cementing China as a key player in the gas turbine sector. The technology is aimed at reducing CO\u2082 emissions, because turbines using natural gas emit about half the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/they-will-store-carbon-dioxide-in-malaysia\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"109360\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">carbon dioxide<\/a><\/strong> compared to coal-fired plants. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>China United Gas Turbine Technology<\/strong> &#8216;s chief technology officer, Mo Jingfei, said the breakthrough improves energy efficiency and allows China to lead the market in developing cleaner technologies over other countries in the region.<\/p>\n\n<p>The development of this turbine is part of a <strong>National Strategic Program<\/strong> initiated in 2012, with the aim of promoting China&#8217;s technological and energy independence.
