The world\u2019s largest aluminium recycler, Novelis<\/strong> , a subsidiary of the Aditya Birla Group<\/strong> , has signed a three-year strategic agreement with TSR Recycling<\/strong> , one of the leading metal recyclers in Europe, to strengthen circularity in the aluminium industry. This contract ensures the supply of 75,000 tonnes of end-of-life aluminium products, pre-sorted and processed by TSR, which will be integrated into the production of low-carbon aluminium sheets<\/strong> for the automotive sector. <\/p>\n\n

Novelis and TSR promote circularity in the aluminum industry<\/h2>\n\n

This partnership responds to the growing demand for recycled materials in the automotive industry, a sector that is seeking to reduce its carbon footprint and rely more on sustainable materials. According to Emilio Braghi, Executive Vice President of Novelis and President of Novelis Europe, this agreement guarantees the supply of high-quality recycled raw materials<\/strong> and reinforces the company’s goal of reaching 75% recycled content in its products by 2030. <\/p>\n\n

Novelis, a subsidiary of the Aditya Birla Group<\/strong> , has completed significant sales of $16.2 billion in fiscal year 2024. During that period, it processed 700,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap in Europe during the last fiscal year, and with this deal it hopes to increase that amount by another 50,000 tonnes. <\/p>\n\n

TSR Recycling<\/em> , which has 170 locations across Europe and processes 7.2 million tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous metals<\/strong> annually, will be responsible for ensuring that aluminium waste is processed efficiently for reuse. Denis Reuter, TSR’s chief operating officer, said the partnership will maximise the circularity of resources by promoting the reuse of materials without compromising metal quality. <\/p>\n\n
