Source: Venus Aerospace  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does the VDR2 ramjet engine work?<\/h2>\n\n<p>The VDR2 combines ramjet and rotary detonation engine propulsion technology, <strong>achieving speeds of up to Mach 6<\/strong> with 15% greater efficiency than conventional engines. Velontra, recognized for its expertise in high-speed air combustion, will be a strategic partner in the flight testing of the engine. These tests will be conducted on an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/hogreen-air-the-hydrogen-powered-drone\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"191493\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unmanned drone<\/a><\/strong> <strong>starting in 2025<\/strong> , representing a fundamental step towards the implementation of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/meet-the-hypersonic-hydrogen-plane-that-could-change-aviation-forever\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"92731\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hypersonic flight<\/a><\/strong> in both commercial and defense applications.  <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;<em>This engine makes hypersonic economics a reality.
