The approval of the Construction and Operations Plan<\/strong> ( COP<\/em> ) for the Atlantic Shores<\/strong> offshore wind projects was confirmed by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). This allows the development of the company’s Projects 1 and 2. <\/p>\n\n

Atlantic Shores offshore wind projects approved<\/h2>\n\n

These projects will generate 2,800 MW of renewable energy, powering more than one million homes in New Jersey as the state continues its push to achieve 100% clean energy by 2035.<\/p>\n\n

The approval of these plans sets the stage for construction to begin next year, boosting the creation of thousands of jobs in high-demand sectors. Atlantic Shores CEO Joris Veldhoven expressed his enthusiasm: ” This is a critical step toward building New Jersey’s first offshore wind farm, which will bring clean energy and strengthen the local economy through investments in the supply chain.<\/em> ” <\/p>\n\n

Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind<\/strong> is a partnership between Shell New Energies<\/strong> and EDF Renewables<\/strong> , and is positioned as a benchmark in the energy transition on the US East Coast. The approved projects will ensure a stable supply of clean energy, while dramatically minimising the impact of carbon emissions in the region. <\/p>\n\n

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy also welcomed the approval, stressing that offshore wind energy<\/a><\/strong> is key to the state’s future. ” With these projects, we are ensuring a cleaner future and creating good-paying jobs that will benefit our communities<\/em> ,” Murphy said.<\/p>\n\n

BOEM<\/a><\/strong> ‘s approval of the COP reinforces the U.S. administration’s commitment to the development of renewable energy, contributing to the ongoing fight against climate change and its effects on marine biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n
