Van Oord<\/strong> has completed the construction of the FSRU berth in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. This project, developed for Deutsche Energy Terminal<\/strong> ( DET<\/em> ) and managed by FSRU Wilhelmshaven GmbH, aims to improve fuel distribution. <\/p>\n\n

Construction of the Van Oord FSRU quay<\/h2>\n\n

The 600-metre-long jetty was built using monopiles, a technology commonly used for ” wind turbines<\/a><\/strong> “, which made the installation process much quicker. Van Oord was responsible for both procurement and construction, with a total of 10 monopiles and adding platforms and walkways to complete the structure. <\/p>\n\n

In addition, the company deployed its LNG-powered suction hopper dredger, Vox Apolonia<\/em> , to dredge the berth area to the required depth. This approach has been an integral part of Van Oord\u2019s strategy<\/strong> to reduce emissions and deliver cleaner solutions. <\/p>\n\n

FSRU project manager Stan Aarts expressed his satisfaction with the results.This project is a clear example of Van Oord’s marine engineering capabilities and expertise. We have delivered a safe and efficient infrastructure that will help Germany meet its growing energy demand. <\/em>“.<\/p>\n\n

The project is part of efforts driven by Germany’s ” LNG Acceleration Act<\/em> ” passed in 2022, which aims to close the country’s energy supply gap following rising regional and global demand.<\/p>\n\n
