Energy company EDP and Kia Iberia <\/strong>have inaugurated the first 350 kW ultra-fast charger<\/strong> at the Kia Retail dealership in San Sebasti\u00e1n de los Reyes, Madrid. This charger is the first in a network of more than 40 charging points that both companies will install in Kia dealerships throughout Spain. <\/p>\n\n

EDP and Kia will promote the use of ultra-fast chargers<\/h2>\n\n

During the inauguration, Eduardo D\u00edvar, general manager of Kia Iberia,<\/strong> and Javier Mart\u00ednez R\u00edos, director of eMobility<\/strong> at EDP<\/strong> , highlighted the importance of this infrastructure to eliminate user concerns about the autonomy, performance, safety and charging time of electric vehicles. The mayor of San Sebasti\u00e1n de los Reyes, Ms. Luc\u00eda Fern\u00e1ndez, was also present at the event, highlighting the municipality’s role in promoting sustainable mobility in Spain. <\/p>\n\n

Ultra-fast charging is essential in this process, because it offers electric vehicle drivers the peace of mind of being able to travel without worries.”<\/p>\nJavier Mart\u00ednez R\u00edos, eMobility director at EDP in Spain.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n

This ultra-fast charger<\/strong> has a capacity of 350 kW and will allow an electric vehicle<\/a><\/strong> to be recharged in just minutes, transforming the practicality and efficiency for drivers who need to make long journeys. The network will be operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, integrating into EDP<\/strong> \u2019s Move On<\/em> and Kia Charge<\/strong> platforms, allowing users to access more than 800,000 charging points in 29 European countries. <\/p>\n\n

A new development and energy infrastructure<\/h2>\n\n

Eduardo D\u00edvar, from Kia Iberia, added that this initiative will help overcome one of the main barriers faced by users when purchasing an electric vehicle: the lack of a fast and accessible charging infrastructure. The Kia and EDP charger network aims to become one of the fastest and most efficient in Spain, with 150 kW and 350 kW chargers available at the brand’s main dealerships. <\/p>\n\n

With this alliance, Kia and EDP<\/strong> reinforce their commitment to the energy transition and decarbonisation, offering solutions that facilitate the use of electric vehicles and contribute to environmental sustainability. The ultra-fast charging network will allow users to recharge their electric vehicles more conveniently, promoting cleaner and more efficient mobility. <\/p>\n\n
