Equinor highlights the value of the Johan Castberg field for Norway<\/h2>\n\n

Trond Bokn, senior vice president of project management control at Equinor project management control at Equinor<\/a><\/strong>expressed his thanks to all involved, noting that this achievement strengthens Norway’s role as a reliable energy supplier.\nThe Johan Castberg field is expected to bring significant value to Norwegian society, generating jobs and benefits to the local economy. <\/p>\n\n

With a daily production potential of 220,000 barrels of oil per day. barrels of oil<\/a><\/strong>Johan Castberg is emerging as one of the largest fields in the Barents Sea<\/strong>, with estimated recoverable volumes between 450 and 650 million barrels.\nThe development of the field includes 30 wells distributed over ten subsea templates and two satellites connected to the FPSO<\/a><\/strong>.\nSo far, 13 wells have been drilled<\/strong> and operations are expected to continue until 2026. <\/p>\n\n

Equinor’s FPSO: Key to Arctic development<\/h2>\n\n

The field<\/strong> Johan Castberg<\/strong><\/a>field, located 240 kilometers northwest of Hammerfest, will have supply and transportation facilities in Hammerfest and Harstad<\/strong>.\nGrete Birgitte Haaland, senior vice-president of Equinor<\/a><\/strong> for Northern Norway, highlights the strategic importance of Johan Castberg for future developments in the Arctic region, opening up a new oil province and opportunities to explore other discoveries. <\/p>\n\n

It is worth noting that 70% of the supplies to the Johan Castberg project<\/a> come from Norwegian industry<\/strong>, and it is estimated that in the operational phase 95% of the inputs will be local.\nThe initiative has had a significant impact on the economy of northern Norway, with one in three employees living in the region. <\/p>\n\n
