Diamond in the rough drives expansion in Karowe<\/h2>\n\n

The Karowe mine, operated by Lucara since 2012, has been noted as one of the most important sources of large diamonds.\nIt has produced historic gems such as the 1,109-carat Lesedi La Rona of 1,109 carats and the Sewel\u00f4 of 1,758 carats.<\/a><\/strong> The recent recovery of this 1,094 carat diamond underscores the consistency of the southern lobe of the EMPKS orebody at Karowe. <\/p>\n\n

The recovery of this diamond reinforces the importance of the investments made in the Karowe underground expansion project.
