noopener\">Baltic Sea<\/a> for the first time<\/strong>, marking an achievement for sustainable shipping.\nThe journey covered 150 nautical miles, from Stockholm (Sweden) to Mariehamn (Finland), with an operating cost up to <strong>95% lower<\/strong> than that of fossil-fueled vessels. <strong><a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/boat-electrical-candela-c-8-design-award\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"160373\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hydrofoil technology<\/a><\/strong> technology, which reduces energy consumption by 80% by lifting the boat out of the water, <strong>allowing it to reach high speeds with low energy expenditure.<\/strong> This design allows only 1% of the boat to touch the water, minimizing drag.\nDuring the voyage, the vessel used a Kempower fast charging system at the ports, which allowed it to complete the journey with only three recharges. <\/p>\n\n<p>According to Gustav Hasselskog, CEO of Candela, the goal of this voyage was to demonstrate that long-range electric sailing is viable and outperforms traditional fossil-fueled ships in many respects.\nThe experience was described as &#8220;magical&#8221;, <strong>flying over the sea in total silence and without the typical jolts of conventional C-8<\/a><\/strong>equipped with a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polestar.com\/es\/sustainability\/batteries\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.polestar.com\/es\/sustainability\/batteries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">69 kWh Polestar battery<\/a>,<\/strong> has shown that the transition to sustainable sailing is possible and more cost-effective.\nWhile a gasoline-powered boat following the Candela to document the trip spent \u20ac750 on fuel, recharging the Candela would have cost about
