Energy Logistics secures logistics contract for wind farm project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Peterson Energy Logistics<\/strong> has been selected to provide a comprehensive logistics solution for the Sofia offshore wind farm project, in collaboration with its UK-based client GE Vernova.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sofia offshore wind farm system and power supply<\/h2>\n\n<p>First, <strong>GE Vernova<\/strong> is in charge of supplying the <strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/the-converter-system-in-the-north-sea\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"175416\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">high voltage direct current<\/a><\/strong><em>(HVDC<\/em>) <strong>transmission system<\/strong> for the Sofia project, which includes the offshore conversion platform.\nThis system for the efficiency and stability of the wind farm. <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, Peterson teams located in Den Helder, The Netherlands, and Lowestoft, UK, will be responsible for managing essential aspects of the project.\nTheir tasks will include <strong>cargo transportation<\/strong>, <strong>stevedoring<\/strong>, <strong>helicopter planning and chartering<\/strong>, <strong>warehousing<\/strong>, <strong>materials management<\/strong>, customs formalities and the provision of essential personnel.\nThese activities will be carried out over a period of 18 months, supporting the installation of the Sofia conversion platform.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Furthermore, this project will mark a milestone as <strong>the first offshore wind farm in UK waters<\/strong> to use load sharing from the Netherlands.\nThis strategy will improve operational efficiency, and reduce operational costs in planning.\nThis model has proven its effectiveness in the <strong>Hollandse Kust North<\/strong>, <strong>South <\/strong>and <strong>West <\/strong> <strong>projects<\/strong> in Dutch waters.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The company has started work after installing the deck and the top of the platform.\nPeterson&#8217;s managing director in the Netherlands, Steef Ritzema, mentioned that the company&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/maritime-terminals-in-the-value-chain\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"articulo\" data-id=\"152473\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">integrated logistics services<\/a><\/strong> services have generated efficiencies for clients in all energy sectors over the past 50 years. <\/p>\n\n<p>Today, they are applying this expertise to the field of renewable energy, contributing to the energy transition.\nThe ability to offer a full range of offshore logistics services from both the UK and the Netherlands provides their customers with maximum flexibility. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sofia offshore wind farm project<\/h2>\n\n<p>The Sofia Project Expansion, located 195 km off the east coast of the United Kingdom, will have a production capacity of 1,400 MW.\nThis project is part of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/marine-wind-park-of-the-world-electricity\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"103911\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dogger Bank offshore wind farm<\/a><\/strong>which will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world. <\/p>\n\n<p>From its Den Helder facility, Peterson currently provides helicopter logistics services for the installation vessel that is placing the 100 turbines that will power the offshore conversion platform on site.\nIn addition, Peterson provides facility management services at the onshore conversion station for the <strong>Dogger Bank C<\/strong> and <strong>Sofia<\/strong> <strong>wind farms<\/strong> located in Lazenby. <\/p>\n\n<p>Peterson&#8217;s UK managing director, Jason Hendry, expressed his enthusiasm for<em>&#8220;transferring decades of experience in the oil and gas sector to the development of an offshore wind farm, one of the largest in the world<\/em>.&#8221;\nAccording to Hendry, Peterson&#8217;s logistics model is efficient, sustainable, specialized and innovative, and can be replicated for existing and new clients in the offshore wind sector in both the southern and northern North Sea. <\/p>\n\n<p>Moreover, the wind farm project will benefit from Peterson&#8217;s suite of <strong>&#8220;Lighthouse technologies,&#8221;<\/strong> which provides real-time information and analysis for operational teams and customers.\nDen Helder will be the hub for helicopter planning and
