most powerful wind turbine,<strong> has proven its resilience by withstanding winds of up to 223 km\/h<\/strong> during the <strong>Yagi super typhoon<\/strong>.\nMade of ultra-high performance concrete, this turbine has a single-point mooring system that ensures durability, cost-effectiveness and stability even in extreme weather conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OceanX platform withstood the strong winds of the super typhoon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, images have been released showing<em>&#8220;how the world&#8217;s largest floating wind turbine withstood the impact of super typhoon Yagi<\/em>&#8220;, whose winds reached a maximum speed of 139 mph<em>(223.6 km\/h<\/em>).\nThe Chinese company <strong>Minyang Smart Energy<\/strong>, responsible for the OceanX platform, has highlighted the wind turbine withstood the storm, and also demonstrated high reliability of offshore wind technology in such adverse conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OceanX <\/strong>was installed at the Qingzhou IV <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/platform-oceanx-arrival-park-qingzhou\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Qingzhou IV offshore wind farm<\/a><\/strong>located in Yangjiang, Guangdong, a coastal province in southeast China.\nWith a total capacity of 16.6 MW and a dual &#8220;V&#8221; shaped turbine, OceanX can produce 54,000 MWh annually, enough to supply 30,000 households in China. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a LinkedIn post by the company, OceanX demonstrated its superior typhoon characteristics, strengthening Mingyang&#8217;s commitment to advanced and reliable offshore wind solutions.\nIn contrast, the storm caused damage at the <strong>Wenchang wind power plant,<\/strong> as well as in China, where at least six turbines were severely affected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The platform, designed by <strong>MingYang <\/strong>and built in collaboration with <strong>Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company<\/strong> and <strong>China State Shipbuilding Corp<\/strong>, features a design with twin counter-rotating rotors mounted on a &#8220;V&#8221; shaped structure.\nThese are secured to a floating Y-shaped platform for stability.\nEach end of the platform houses <strong>MySE16.6(T) wind turbines <\/strong>with 182-meter diameter blades and full yaw capability.\nWeighing approximately 15,000 tons, the platform is designed to operate in waters deeper than 35 meters, ensuring access to offshore wind resources.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OceanX is<strong>constructed with ultra-high performance concrete<\/strong> to improve durability and cost-effectiveness, and uses a single-point mooring system to <strong>minimize environmental impact and improve stability<\/strong>, even in typhoon conditions.\nAccording to the company, the platform is designed to withstand category 5 hurricanes with winds up to 260 km\/h and still generate electricity amid 30-meter waves.\nIn addition, the platform supports a design, under a turbulence intensity level of 0.135, suitable for extreme marine situations.  <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"
