successfully completes decommissioning of offshore platforms in Western Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>McDermott <\/strong>has successfully completed the decommissioning of the Campbell platform and associated offshore infrastructure in central Varanus Island, Western Australia.\nThe project, awarded in January 2024 by <strong>Santos<\/strong>, included engineering, procurement and the removal of the topsides of the platform, as well as the transportation of the elements to the mainland for disposal. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Decommissioning of offshore platforms<\/h2>\n\n<p>The company carried out a safe decommissioning operation using a jack-up platform, manufactured specifically to address the complexities of the Campbell platform substructure.\nThis platform was designed at McDermott&#8217;s Batam facility and was supported by engineering teams from <strong>Perth<\/strong>, <strong>Chennai <\/strong>and <strong>Kuala Lumpur.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>This project reflects McDermott&#8217;s commitment to developing creative solutions for circularity and offshore decommissioning.\nAccording to Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott&#8217;s senior vice president of Subsea and Floating Facilities, the successful execution of this work demonstrates how the company&#8217;s decommissioning expertise can meet the most complex challenges of Australia&#8217;s energy industry. <\/p>\n\n<p>With this intervention, McDermott is contributing to the growing demand for sustainable practices in the global energy sector by implementing technologies that optimize both safety and efficiency on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/circular-economy-industrial-dismantling\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"articulo\" data-id=\"172426\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">decommissioning and refurbishment<\/a><\/strong> and <strong>refurbishment<\/strong> projects.<\/p>\n\n<p>McDermott, with a
