Last August 23, Wan Hai Lines held the christening ceremony for its new container ship, the“WAN HAI A17”<\/strong>, at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje, South Korea.\nThis event marks the addition of the tenth vessel in the 13,100 TEU containership series, part of a strategic expansion of Wan Hai Lines’ fleet. <\/p>\n\n

The ceremony was presided over by Mr.\nPo-Ting Chen, chairman of Wan Hai Lines, and Mr.\nSA Choi, vice president of Samsung Heavy Industries<\/a><\/strong>who underlined the importance of this new vessel in enhancing the company’s capacity and competitiveness.\nMs. Chih-Jung Chang performed the christening ritual, bestowing blessings for a safe and successful voyage. <\/p>\n\n

The WAN HAI A17<\/strong>, with a length of 335 meters, a beam of 51 meters and a draft of 16 meters, will join the Asia to North America East Coast service known as “AA7”.\nThis vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art engines and environmentally friendly technology, which improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions.\nIn addition, it has obtained “Smart Ship Notation<\/em>” certification, which allows the use of advanced real-time monitoring systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. <\/p>\n\n

In addition to the christening ceremony, the company reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility by making a charitable donation<\/strong> to the local Wish-Harbor<\/strong> organization .<\/strong>\nThis gesture reflects the company’s motto,“We carry, we care<\/em>,” and its dedication to making a positive contribution to the communities in which it operates and works. <\/p>\n\n

The delivery of the new vessel<\/strong>, scheduled for delivery by the end of August, represents a major step in the modernization of Wan Hai Lines’ fleet, enabling the company to offer more comprehensive and high-quality shipping services to its customers worldwide.<\/p>\n\n
