of a <strong>second Ocean Energy Construction Hybrid Vessel (OECV)<\/strong>.\nThis agreement reinforces the collaboration between the two companies, which had already signed a similar contract in May for another such vessel with an option for two more units. <\/p>\n\n<p>Island Offshore, the Norwegian shipping group specializing in maritime <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/association-ia-in-maritime-operations\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"172482\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">advanced maritime operations, has<\/a><\/strong> has decided to continue to rely on VARD&#8217;s expertise in the construction of technological and sustainable vessels.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Features of the new hybrid vessel<\/h2>\n\n<p>The new vessel, designed to operate in the renewable energy <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/iberdrola-and-burger-king-renewable-energy\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"170739\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">renewable energy<\/a><\/strong> and offshore sectors, will have a length of 120 meters and a hybrid propulsion system with an energy storage capacity of 1.7 MWh.\nThis system allows for more efficient and low-emission operations. <\/p>\n\n<p>It will also be equipped with a <strong>250-ton underwater crane<\/strong> with wave compensation, making it a powerful tool for <strong>offshore<\/strong> operations. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/usv-solutions-for-high-sea-operations\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"127191\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offshore operations<\/a><\/strong>.\nOnboard facilities will be prepared to accommodate 130 people, ensuring a first-class working environment. <\/p>\n\n<p>It is important to note that the hull of the vessel will be built in Romania, while outfitting and final delivery will take place in Norway, which is <strong>scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Follow us on social
