Unither Bioelectronics<\/strong>(UB)<\/em>, a subsidiary of United Therapeutics Corporation<\/strong>, and Robinson Helicopter Company<\/strong> have signed a collaboration agreement to accelerate the development of hydrogen-powered helicopters based on Robinson’s R44 <\/strong>and R66 <\/strong>models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Development of new hydrogen-powered helicopters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration between Unither Bioelectronics and Robinson Helicopter aims to develop hydrogen-powered helicopters and achieve certification of these aircraft by Transport Canada Civil Aviation<\/strong>(TCCA<\/em>) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration<\/strong>(FAA<\/em>).\nRobinson Helicopter will bring its extensive technical and regulatory expertise to expedite the development and certification process for these innovative helicopters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UTODS<\/strong>(United Therapeutics Organ Delivery System<\/em>) project<\/strong> is a key initiative of Unither Bioelectronics that seeks to redefine organ delivery through the use of hydrogen-powered<\/a><\/strong> hydrogen and electric-powered vertical-lift aircraft.\nThese aircraft are designed to operate from existing aerial infrastructures in hospitals, with the extensive advantages for<\/strong> vertical<\/strong> landing<\/strong> and take-off<\/strong>, which improves the speed and efficiency of organ transport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice President of Program Management and Organ Delivery Systems at United Therapeutics<\/strong>, Mikael Cardinal, said, “Hydrogen-powered aircraft are the next frontier in sustainable aviation. We are committed to developing a fleet of aircraft with zero operational emissions and look forward to working with Robinson to achieve regulatory approval and production of these aircraft.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
