This breakthrough will strengthen the local economy, creating more than 1,000 high-quality jobs, <\/strong>and drive the adoption of safe and environmentally friendly energy storage technologies.\nNatron’s batteries stand out for their higher power density, extended life and a manufacturing process that dispenses with critical minerals such as lithium and cobalt. <\/p>\n\n

Natron accelerates its growth with sodium ion gigafactory<\/h2>\n\n

The announcement was made by Governor Roy Cooper, accompanied by senior Natron executives and other key officials.\nAccording to Colin Wessells, Natron’s founder and co-chief executive officer, this facility will enable a 40-fold increase in the company’s current production capacity, marking an achievement in its mission to offer safe and sustainable energy solutions.<\/a><\/strong> and sustainable energy solutions. <\/p>\n\n

In addition to the direct impact on industry, the plant will benefit from a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG), estimated at $21.7 million <\/strong>over 12 years, and additional support from the state to strengthen local infrastructure.\nThis project will also contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions<\/a><\/strong>emissions, aligning with the state’s clean energy goals. <\/p>\n\n
