construction of a green metals supply chain with the start of work on its Green Metal Project, using green hydrogen, located in Western Australia.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The initial phase of the Green Metal Project<\/h2>\n\n<p>This $50 million project, located at the Christmas Creek Green Energy Hub, is designed to produce more than 1,500 tons of green metal per year, with first production scheduled for 2025.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Green Metal Project will use green hydrogen produced at the Fortescue hydrogen facility, which is <strong>the largest liquid and gaseous hydrogen plant in Australia<\/strong>.\nThis facility, which is partially powered by solar energy, will enable Fortescue to create high-purity metal suitable for use in steel plants around the world, thereby contributing to significant reductions in carbon emissions in the iron and steel industry. <\/p>\n\n<p>During the groundbreaking ceremony, Fortescue CEO, Dr. Andrew Forrest AO, highlighted the importance of the project, stating: &#8220;<em>Today we celebrate innovation, collaboration and our ambitious goals.\nThis is a vital moment in our journey to build a green metals supply chain. <\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n<p>The project is also supported by the <strong>Western Australian Government<\/strong>, which sees green hydrogen as a key tool for decarbonizing remote areas and reducing reliance on diesel in mining operations.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>Green Energy Hub<\/strong> will house <strong>green metal production<\/strong>, and will be an innovation center for decarbonization, with prototypes of zero-emission mining equipment and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/gladstone-electrolyzer-plant\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/planta-de-electrolizadores-de-gladstone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">state-of-the-art fast-charging technology.<\/a><\/strong>.\nIn
