Scientific and Technological Center of Valparaiso (CCTVal) of the Federico Santa Maria Technical University is advancing in the <strong>development of a robot destined to clean solar panels.<\/strong> The device is designed to eliminate &#8220;soiling&#8221;, a term that describes the accumulation of dirt that can reduce the efficiency of solar panels. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/robotic-standard-cleaning-solar-panels\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"176536\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">efficiency of the panels by up to 30%.<\/a><\/strong> by up to 30%.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chile leads the way with robotics in solar panel cleaning<\/h2>\n\n<p>Dr. Christian Orellana, who is leading the project, mentioned that the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/figure-02-the-most-powerful-humananoid-robot\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"177253\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">robot<\/a><\/strong> is configured to operate uninterruptedly, working every day of the week at any time.\nThis development promises to optimize the production of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/photovoltaic-energy-in-electrical-grids\/\" data-type=\"articulo\" data-id=\"95781\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">photovoltaic energy<\/a><\/strong> and contribute significantly to the decarbonization of Chile&#8217;s energy matrix, especially in regions such as the north, where resources are more limited. <\/p>\n\n<p>Currently, the Atacama Region is home to the largest number of solar panels in the world. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/video-tv\/paneles-solares-de-diamante\/\" data-type=\"video-tv\" data-id=\"171070\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">solar panels<\/a><\/strong> in the country and represents an important part of South America&#8217;s photovoltaic capacity.\nAccording to Dr. Orellana, this advance is a crucial step towards the <strong>generation of greener energies<\/strong> and energy diversification in the national sector. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Patenting process and strategic collaborations<\/h2>\n\n<p>This project is financed by the Corporaci\u00f3n de Fomento de la Producci\u00f3n (Corfo), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.linkedin.com\/posts\/cctval_ciencia2030usm-centrosanid-activity-7226966727941648388-5NyT\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/es.linkedin.com\/posts\/cctval_ciencia2030usm-centrosanid-activity-7226966727941648388-5NyT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with the collaboration of the Atamostec consortium<\/a><\/strong>.\nUniversidad T\u00e9cnica Federico Santa Mar\u00eda, through its Technology Transfer and Licensing Office, is in the process of patenting this technology.\nDuring a recent visit to the university facilities, Atamostec&#8217;s general manager, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Arriaza, and his technical team had the opportunity to evaluate the prototype, highlighting its potential to
