In a recent press release, E3 Lithium unveiled plans to build a<\/strong> fully integrated lithium demonstration plant<\/strong> in Alberta, Canada.\nThis project aims to produce battery grade lithium carbonate from brines located in the Leduc deposit. <\/p>\n\n

Canadian lithium demonstration plant<\/h2>\n\n

This project builds on the results of the successful direct lithium extraction(DLE<\/em>) pilot program conducted in 2023.\nDuring that period, E3 Lithium evaluated and operated multiple technologies<\/strong>, validating the technical feasibility of its proprietary DLE technology.\nThe data obtained in this program was important to the recently published pre-feasibility study demonstrating the economic viability of lithium projects in Alberta. <\/p>\n\n

The new demonstration plant will operate a fully integrated system that will include DLE technology scale-up, as well as purification, concentration and chemical conversion processes.<\/strong> These processes will continuously transform the brine into lithium carbonate. brine into battery-grade lithium carbonate.<\/a><\/strong> into battery-grade lithium carbonate.\nIn addition, off-site hydroxide development will be conducted. <\/p>\n\n

The facility is projected to be a key economic driver for the battery supply chain<\/a> in Alberta<\/strong>.\nThe company has announced that further details on the design and operation of this demonstration plant will be released in the coming months. <\/p>\n\n
