The robotic whale shark<\/strong>, a nearly five-meter-long, 350-kilogram bionic marvel, mimics the natural movements of a real whale shark <\/strong>with impressive precision.\nEquipped with seven powered joints, this robotic robot<\/a><\/strong> can swim, spin, float, dive and even move its mouth, all controlled by advanced computer and communication technologies. <\/p>\n\n

This is the largest bionic fish we have developed so far.\nEach joint of the whale shark requires precise coordination between computation, communication and sensing. <\/p>\nGao Chao, lead designer of the project, explained.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n

The robotic whale shark<\/strong> offers advanced functionalities such as wireless remote control, programmed swimming and multi-jointed bionic propulsion.\nIts ability to reach speeds of up to 0.7 meters per second<\/strong> and dive to depths of 20 meters makes it a versatile tool for multiple applications, from water quality monitoring to underwater underwater mapping<\/a><\/strong> and specialized missions. <\/p>\n
