{"id":177197,"date":"2024-08-05T16:11:19","date_gmt":"2024-08-05T20:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/chevron-headquarter-abandons-california\/"},"modified":"2024-08-05T16:28:26","modified_gmt":"2024-08-05T20:28:26","slug":"chevron-headquarter-abandons-california","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/chevron-headquarter-abandons-california\/","title":{"rendered":"Chevron&#8217;s Headquarters Leaving California: Relocation to Houston, Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Chevron&#8217;s headquarters will be relocated from San Ramon, California, to Houston, Texas.<\/strong>  This strategic move is part of an effort to improve collaboration and engagement with its executives, employees and business partners.\nAlong with this change, the company also unveiled important modifications to its leadership team. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Relocation of Chevron&#8217;s headquarters  <\/h2>\n\n<p>Chevron President and CEO Mike Wirth and Vice Chairman Mark Nelson <strong>will relocate to Houston before the end of 2024<\/strong>.\nThis move will allow the company&#8217;s senior management to work more closely together, leveraging proximity to improve operational efficiencies and foster a more cohesive corporate culture. <\/p>\n\n<p>Although the headquarters will move to Houston, <strong>Chevron has confirmed that the immediate impact on San Ramon employees will be minimal<\/strong>. All corporate functions are expected to gradually move to Houston over the next five years, although positions supporting California operations will continue in San Ramon.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The company currently employs approximately 7,000 people in the Houston area and 2,000 in San Ramon.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changes in senior management<\/h2>\n\n<p>In addition to the relocation of its headquarters, Chevron also <strong>announced a number of changes to its management team<\/strong>. Nigel Hearne, executive vice president of Oil, Products and Gas, will retire after 35 years of service with the company.\nUnder his leadership, Chevron has consolidated its Upstream, Midstream and Downstream businesses, achieving more effective integration of value chains. <\/p>\n\n<p>Mark Nelson will assume responsibility for Oil, Products and Gas effective October 1, 2024, while Michelle Green, currently vice president, Human Resources for Oil, Products and Gas, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.marketscreener.com\/cotizacion\/accion\/CHEVRON-CORPORATION-12064\/noticia\/Chevron-anuncia-cambios-en-su-c-pula-directiva-47544044\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/es.marketscreener.com\/cotizacion\/accion\/CHEVRON-CORPORATION-12064\/noticia\/Chevron-anuncia-cambios-en-su-c-pula-directiva-47544044\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">will succeed Rhonda Morris as vice president and chief human resources officer on January 1, 2025.<\/a><\/strong>as also mentioned by MArketScreener.\nMorris, who has been a tireless advocate for Chevron&#8217;s culture and people, will retire after 31 years with the company. <\/p>\n\n<p>Finally, Colin Parfitt, Vice President, Midstream, will also retire after 29 years of service.\nAndy Walz, currently president of Americas Products, will assume the presidency of Downstream, Midstream and Chemicals effective Oct. 1, 2024, leading the global businesses for <strong><a
