Okeanus Science & Technology(Okeanus<\/em>), a company recognized for its expertise in specialized ocean equipment and marine engineering services, has introduced an advanced 20-ton<\/strong> A-frame launch and recovery system<\/strong> with a 125 HP power unit.<\/p>\n\n

This innovative package, available for pre-order as well as for Okeanus’ growing rental portfolio of subsea research solutions, promises to transform the field of marine research.<\/p>\n\n

“In recent years, we have seen a sustained demand for launch and recovery systems capable of handling larger loads in deeper water. We are excited to bring our new 20-ton A-Frame package to market, both as a custom solution and as part of our rental line.” <\/p>\nBenton LeBlanc, commercial director of Okeanus.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n

Designed at the company’s Houston, Texas facility, this A-frame system<\/strong> responds to the growing demand for rugged and versatile deck handling equipment.\nIt has been developed to meet the needs of geotechnical and environmental studies<\/strong> requiring heavy lifting.\nThe engineering behind this system seeks to provide a perfect balance between robustness and functionality under challenging environments. <\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

This A-Frame system <\/strong>has been successfully employed in two major projects.\nThe first project supported an unmanned unmanned vehicle deployment campaign for a<\/a> <\/strong>for a government customer, while the second was with an international marine vessel supplier, extending to the end of summer 2024. <\/p>\n\n

LeBlanc also indicated that “Beyond safety and operational reliability, the offshore utility of the A-Frame package was a key consideration.\nDuring testing, we quickly found the system to be ideal for launching and recovering unmanned assets, especially unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), from a larger mother ship.\nThe system’s load tolerance and ample internal clearances are features that are highly valued by operators in the offshore industry. <\/em>“.<\/p>\n\n

Moreover, the Okeanus A-Frame project rental option provides customers with a fast and flexible solution, allowing mobilization on a variety of vessels and in almost any operating region of the world.\nThis flexibility is critical in responding to the diverse and changing needs of the subsea research and offshore operations sector. <\/p>\n\n
