Dragados Offshore a major contract for the structuring and construction of an advanced <strong>conversion system in the North<\/strong> Sea.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The North Sea converter system project<\/h2>\n\n<p>This project includes both a converter for the <strong>North Sea LanWin3 grid connection project<\/strong> and an onshore converter.\nThe EPCI<em>(Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation)<\/em> agreement covers all engineering, component procurement, construction, transportation and<em>installation<\/em> services for both the offshore and onshore systems. <\/p>\n\n<p>Each of the <strong>converter&#8217;s high-tech<\/strong> components will be produced exclusively in European plants. <strong>The platform will be assembled at Dragados Offshore&#8217;s shipyard<\/strong> in southern Spain.\nThese converters will follow the 2 GW standard, as agreed by the transmission system operators TenneT, Amprion and 50Hertz.\nThe total value of the contract amounts to approximately \u20ac2.9 billion, although no further details about the deal have been disclosed.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>LanWin3 grid connection system<\/strong> will connect a North Sea offshore wind farm to the European mainland.\nBP has acquired the wind farm site, which has a designated capacity of 2,000 MW and is located about 120 kilometers northwest of Helgoland in the German Exclusive Economic Zone, at auction. <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, a maritime and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/prysmian-test-submarine-hvdc-cable\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"169983\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">maritime and overland cable <\/a><\/strong>of more than 200 kilometers to the connection point in the Heide region in northern Friesland.\nIn addition, the LanWin3<em>(50Hertz<\/em>) and LanWin2<em>(TenneT<\/em>) systems will be integrated with NordOstLink, a new high-voltage direct current<em>(HVDC<\/em>) transmission line to be built in the direction of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.\nThe onshore converter near Schwerin will transform direct current into alternating current, enabling the transport of large amounts of
