Aerospace started testing of its VX4 prototype

Vertical Aerospace, the pioneer in aerospace technology and zero-emission aviation, has officially begun testing its most advanced eVTOL prototype: the VX4.
This breakthrough was achieved with a series of initial ground tests, including propeller balancing, at the company’s UK-based Flight Test Center.

Next testing phase for the VX4 prototype

With the success of the first tests, which included propulsion and propeller balancing evaluations, Vertical Aerospace is now preparing for the next stage, involving captive flight tests“on wheels“.
These will be conducted as soon as the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issues the necessary flight permit.
These assessments are crucial to ensure that the VX4 meets the highest safety standards before progressing to free flight at low speed.

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote we conduct provides us with valuable data to further refine our prototype.

said David King, Vertical’s Chief Engineer, as he shared the project’s progress.

The company continues to work closely with the CAA to develop one of the safest and most advanced eVTOL aircraft in the world.

The new VX4 prototype is significantly more powerful than its predecessor, <a href="https://vertical-aerospace.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Vertical-Aerospace-Unveils-Advanced-VX4-Prototype.pdf" a 20% increase in the power-to-weight ratio, enabling speeds of up to 240 km/h (150 mph). This breakthrough promises to transform not only commercial aviation, but also to set new
