receives funding to create unmanned vessel capable of sensor recovery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Sulmara has been awarded a grant from the Net Zero Technology Center (NZTC) to advance the creation of an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/sea-machines-unmanned-surface-vessel\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"146082\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unmanned surface vessel<\/a> (USV) with the capability to deploy and retrieve towed sensor packages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Autonomous vessel promises improved safety and efficiency at sea<\/h2>\n\n<p>This innovative project aims to establish a new, more environmentally friendly methodology for the acquisition of data needed in the decommissioning of infrastructure. <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/maritime-decommissioning-works-thailand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>decommissioning of marine energy<\/strong> <strong>offshore energy infrastructures<\/strong><\/a>.\nApplications foreseen include verification of seabed cleanup, monitoring of marine organism growth, environmental and critical component monitoring, as well as 3D imaging of underwater infrastructures. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sulmara.com\/article\/sulmara-secures-nztc-funding-to-push-for-further-offshore-decarbonisation\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.sulmara.com\/article\/sulmara-secures-nztc-funding-to-push-for-further-offshore-decarbonisation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">3D imaging of underwater infrastructures<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>By testing this technology in a live maritime environment, we seek to encourage the industry to re-evaluate its supply chain and consider how remote systems can offer not only environmental and health and safety (HSE) benefits, but also a significant reduction in
