The Shell Brent Charlie Topside arrived at the port of Able Seaton on July 20, marking a significant milestone in Able UK’s leadership within the industry.\nThis structure is the largest offshore offshore platform<\/a><\/strong> single-piece offshore platform that has ever been lifted, transported and delivered ashore, weighing 31,000 tons<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Shell Brent Charlie is decommissioned in Able Seaton<\/h2>\n\n

This operation is part of an extensive agreement that began in 2011 and was formalized with Shell in 2013 for the decommissioning of the platforms<\/a><\/strong> in the Brent field.\nOn the other platforms already decommissioned, Delta, Bravo and Alpha, Able UK has achieved a recycling\/reuse rate in excess of 97%<\/strong>.\nThe company is committed to achieving or exceeding this figure for Charlie using its well-established supply network. <\/p>\n\n

Brent Charlie also represents the fourth and final Shell Brent field platform to be decommissioned at Able Seaton<\/strong>.\nLike its predecessors, this operation involved the heavy-lift vessel Allseas Pioneering Spirit<\/a><\/strong> and ended with the transfer to the barge Allseas Iron Lady, which towed her into port and anchored her in the Able UK-designed laydown bed. <\/p>\n\n

Once security checks are completed, the 31,000 Te structure will be moved to Pier 6, designed to support the weight of these huge structures.<\/p>\n
