With LNG Canada’s upcoming operation, Petronas strengthens its LNG fleet with new efficient vessels. These ships were built primarily for the purpose of making deliveries from North America to the company’s customers.<\/p>\n\n
With the arrival of these three vessels, named Puteri Sejinjang, Puteri Mahsuri and Puteri Mayang, Petronas increases the total number of vessels dedicated to its North American operations to six. The first three vessels, Puteri Saadong, Puteri Ledang and Puteri Santubong, joined in January 2024.<\/p>\n\n
The new vessels were built at the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea, and each has a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters, making them the largest in PETRONAS’ diverse fleet.<\/p>\n\n
On the other hand, Petronas COO Adnan Zainal Abidin highlighted the importance of LNG as an element for an equitable and sustainable energy transition. In addition, he emphasized that the company is committed to providing this \n to provide this fuel efficiently and reliably<\/a>\n<\/strong> and reliable manner with the incorporation of the new vessels.<\/p>\n\n In addition, Petronas owns a 25% stake in LNG Canada, located in Kitimat, British Columbia, recognized as one of the lowest carbon-emitting plants in the world.
