On June 25, Maersk celebrated the official opening of its first low greenhouse gas emission warehouse in Denmark<\/strong>, located at the Taulov Dry Port in Fredericia. The inauguration ceremony, attended by customers, local authorities and partners, marked a significant event in the company’s journey towards sustainability.<\/p>\n\n

Maersk debuts low-emission warehouse<\/h2>\n\n

This new warehouse represents a significant advance in international standards for low-emission logistics facilities. \n low emissions<\/a>\n<\/strong>. With this initiative, Maersk reinforces its commitment to achieve net zero CO\u2082 emissions by 2040 across its operations<\/strong>. This center will play a crucial role in the company’s logistics network in the Nordic countries, optimizing the handling of cargo from different modes of transport, such as road, sea and air.<\/p>\n\n

Birna \u00d6defors, Managing Director for Nordic Countries at Maersk, highlighted the strategic importance of the warehouse’s location in the center of the Danish Triangle. \u00d6defors stressed that this facility becomes a new logistics hub with immediate access to key infrastructure<\/strong>, including ports, railroads and roads, as well as the air hub in Billund. He also emphasized that this initiative not only meets Maersk’s strategic objectives, but also responds directly to the needs of its customers, who operate distribution and production centers in the area.<\/p>\n\n

Partnership between Maersk and Taulov Dry Port<\/h2>\n\n

The project is the result of a partnership between Maersk and Taulov Dry Port, the owner of the land. The construction of the warehouse was carried out according to BREEAM Excellent \n BREEAM Excellent<\/a>\n<\/strong>standards, ensuring zero direct emissions during operations<\/strong>. Runa D. Rasmussen, CEO of ADP A\/S, operator of the Port of Fredericia and Taulov Dry Port, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership and the strategic value of the new warehouse, reaffirming the continued commitment to Maersk.<\/p>\n\n

The environmental characteristics of the new facilities are impressive. All equipment in the warehouse, both indoors and outdoors, is electrically powered and the roof is covered with solar panels. \n solar panels<\/a>\n<\/strong> panels, the surplus energy from which is fed into the grid. In addition, battery-powered trucks will be used for maneuvering operations and hydrogen stations are planned to be installed in the vicinity of the warehouse.<\/p>\n\n
