According to Ken Wisian, leader of the research team and a geophysicist at the University of Texas, “The bottom line is that the whole county looks like a really good development target. As good or better than areas already being developed in Texas.” This finding has been highlighted by ThinkGeoEnergy and has generated excitement among local officials.

The implementation of a geothermal industry in Presidio County could revitalize the local economy, generate new jobs, and eventually reduce energy costs for communities. Unlike fuels such as natural gas and coal, which emit hazardous pollutants, geothermal energy contributes to better air quality.

The Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health warns that pollutants released by fossil fuels can cause serious health problems, including premature death, heart attacks, respiratory problems, strokes and asthma. Switching to clean energy sources such as geothermal benefits public health while mitigating climate change. Fossil fuels are primarily responsible for global warming, and their reduction is essential for environmental sustainability.

Follow us on social networks and don’t miss any of our publications!

Source:
 The Cool Down

Source: Shutterstock

[13026,13044

post-167145","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_noticias-energy","categoria_noticias-new-energies
["GET
