Despite a slight increase in electricity demand<\/strong>, wind power held steady, partially offsetting the shortfall with a record month for solar power.\nCork became the leading producer of wind power, overtaking Kerry for the first time, closely followed by Galway, Tipperary and Tyrone. <\/p>\n\n

Justin Moran, Director of Public Affairs for Wind Energy Ireland, highlighted the importance of this achievement:“Every time a wind turbine or solar panel generates electricity, it reduces our dependence on imported fossil fuels, which helps reduce wholesale electricity prices and increases our supply of clean energy<\/em>“.<\/p>\n\n

Wind farms boost Ireland’s economy<\/h2>\n\n
