{"id":159537,"date":"2024-05-28T16:22:18","date_gmt":"2024-05-28T20:22:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/progress-88-at-the-space-station\/"},"modified":"2024-05-28T16:27:25","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T20:57:25","slug":"progress-88-at-the-space-station","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/progress-88-at-the-space-station\/","title":{"rendered":"NASA to provide coverage of Progress 88 launch to Space Station"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>NASA will provide live coverage of the launch and docking of<strong> Roscosmos&#8217; Progress 88 cargo spacecraft<\/strong>, which will carry approximately three tons of supplies, food and fuel for the Expedition 71 crew on the International Space Station.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Progress 88 launch<\/h2>\n\n<p>The Progress 88 spacecraft, <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/aerospace-propulsion-innovations\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"articulo\" data-id=\"132019\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\n  <strong>which carries no crew<\/strong>\n<\/a>is scheduled for liftoff next Thursday, May 30 at 5:43 a.m. EDT (2:43 p.m. Baikonur time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, using <strong>a Soyuz rocket<\/strong> as the backbone.<\/p>\n\n<p>The event will be broadcast live from its launch, which will begin at 5:15 a.m. on <strong>all official NASA platforms<\/strong>. After a two-day orbital journey, the spacecraft will automatically dock to the space-facing port of the Poisk module at 7:47 a.m. on Saturday, June 1.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The spacecraft will remain docked to the station for nearly six months<\/strong>. Once the period is over, at the end of November to re-enter the Earth&#8217;s atmosphere and dispose of the garbage collected by the crew. The <strong>International Space Station<\/strong> is a focal point for science, technology and human innovation, enabling research that cannot be conducted on Earth.<\/p>\n\n<p>For more than 23 years, NASA has maintained a continuous human presence aboard the orbital laboratory, where <strong>astronauts have learned to live and work in space<\/strong>.
