Also, the difficult terrain limits rescue efforts, which decreases the chances of finding survivors.<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, the Porgera mine, a gold mining <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/new-jade-mines-in-columbia-britain\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"155971\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">underground gold mine, is<\/a>\n<\/strong> mine, is<strong> jointly managed by Barrick Gold, China&#8217;s Zijin Mining Group<\/strong> and other Papua New Guinean shareholders. This mine resumed operations at the beginning of this year, after four years of inactivity.<\/p>\n\n<p>The company also noted in its statement that the Porgera mine is providing assistance to the survivors of the hillside collapse, which occurred 30 kilometers from the mine. It also <strong>indicated that it has a 40-day fuel supply for its operations<\/strong>.
