The Zhangzhou LNG Terminal<\/strong>, highlighted as an ambitious project for the expansion of gas storage capacity in China, has officially started operations with an annual receiving capacity of 3 million tons. This is the first new LNG receiving terminal project to come on stream in China this year.<\/p>\n\n

Recently, the vessel “Makoma” from Australia<\/strong>, escorted by four tugboats, successfully unloaded 66,000 tons of LNG at the Zhangzhou terminal, marking the official start of the station’s operations.<\/p>\n\n

The assistant general manager of the LNG Terminal Management Company of the National Gas Pipeline Network Group<\/strong>Qiu Shanshan said that after the successful arrival and unloading of the first LNG ship, the station’s equipment will be debugged and gas supply to nearby provinces will commence. This operation is expected to increase LNG supply capacity by 3 million tons per year in regions such as Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, and Zhejiang.<\/p>\n\n

In addition, the first phase of the Zhangzhou LNG project has developed three LNG storage tanks for the \n LNG storage tanks<\/a>\n<\/strong> with a capacity of 160,000 cubic meters each, a dedicated LNG receiving and offloading terminal with a capacity of 80,000 to 270,000 cubic meters. Also, 04 sets of high-pressure gasification export facilities and 10 tanker truck loading platforms were established.<\/p>\n\n

This complex can export 18 million cubic meters of high-pressure gas<\/strong> daily and transport 180 tanker trucks. In total, three million tons of liquefied natural gas are equivalent to 4.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas, enough to cover the needs of 13 million inhabitants for a year.<\/p>\n
