Startup Roboteos unveiled its vehicle, the “Heliotrope 1.0”<\/strong> at the Overland Expo Westcon over the weekend, with the roof system that automatically unfolds and follows the direction of the Sun, to take advantage of maximum energy harvesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This intelligent system maximizes energy advantages by installing a slim, attached box on the roof of the vehicle that rises only 15 cm, while using GPS and internal sensors to track the position of the sun. In this way, it adjusts for the best exposure throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vehicle’s dual-axle design allows it to rotate 360 degrees, which translates to the ability to take full advantage of sunlight, regardless of the direction in which the RV is parked. Also, 400 watts of integrated panels<\/a><\/strong> generate up to 2.5 times the power of a stationary roof system, equivalent to a 1,000 W array under ideal conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RV is designed to withstand high temperature weather, including winds of up to 40 km\/h when deployed and 129 km\/h when closed. In addition, its automotive-grade components, stainless steel hardware and waterproof electronics make it ideal for off-grid adventures.<\/p>\n\n\n
