{"id":152290,"date":"2024-05-05T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-05T13:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/?p=152290"},"modified":"2024-05-04T19:42:46","modified_gmt":"2024-05-05T00:12:46","slug":"create-solar-plates-with-organic-algae","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/create-solar-plates-with-organic-algae\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Scientists Innovate Solar Panels Using Organic Algae"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A team of scientists from the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University in Coimbatore, India, has created a photovoltaic functional pattern <strong>by developing solar panels with organic algae<\/strong> , allowing progress in the energy branch.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solar panels with organic algae<\/h2>\n\n<p>This advance focuses on the <strong>use of the macroalgae Pithophora<\/strong> , a special algae that is commonly found in ponds and other bodies of freshwater, forming dense mats on the surface of the water or growing on the seabed.<\/p>\n\n<p>The researchers collected these algae and processed them into small fragments to create a biofilm. This biofilm was placed between two modified electrodes: <strong>a top copper electrode coated with activated carbon and a bottom titanium oxide electrode coated with fluorine-doped tin oxide<\/strong> . These components function respectively as the electron and hole transport layers.<\/p>\n\n<p>Preliminary research results were promising, especially in low-power applications.
