Projects that wish to benefit from this program must have a maximum capacity of 10 MW.

SolarBank together with TriMac Engineering plan to apply for inclusion in the program in July of this year and estimate to begin construction of the projects in 2025. These projects are expected to be operational by spring 2026 and will be managed by the AI Renewable Fund.

In addition to being involved in Canada, SolarBank has expanded its presence in the US community solar market. The company recently obtained a lease in New York State to develop 30 MW of community solar, a project that could benefit from incentives from the NY-Sun program, managed by the New State Energy Research and Development Authority. York.

The NY-Sun program aims to foster 10 GW of distributed solar energy by 2030 . This initiative is part of the state’s latest distributed solar energy strategies, driven by Governor Kathy Hochul’s policies, which seek to expedite permitting for community solar energy projects announced earlier this year.

The implementation of community solar in Nova Scotia not only promotes environmental sustainability, but also promotes significant economic benefits by reducing energy costs for communities and creating local jobs in the renewable energy sector. This type of projects strengthens the resilience of the electrical grid and increases the energy independence of the regions.

Follow us on social networks and don’t miss any of our publications!

Inspenet.com YouTube LinkedIn Facebook Instagram X

Source and photo: pv-tech.org

Photo: shutterstock

[13026,13044

post-151213","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_noticias-energy","categoria_noticias-new-energies
["GET
