Equinor has awarded DeepOcean an agreement for multiple subsea infrastructure remediation and restoration services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Restructuring of the platform and subsea infrastructure<\/h2>\n\n

This agreement focuses on subsea intervention and contingency repair of high voltage subsea pipelines, structures and cables<\/strong> for both offshore renewable energy and oil and gas fields. With an initial term of four years, the contract also offers the flexibility to extend for up to four additional years.<\/p>\n\n

The scope of the agreement extends to the Norwegian continental shelf<\/strong>, as well as Equinor’s planned international work and contingency activities for members of the PRSI group. The latter is composed of 23 energy companies that are grouped together to manage marine pipeline and power cable repair contingencies.<\/p>\n\n

Operational management of the contract will be handled by DeepOcean<\/strong> from its headquarters in Haugesund, Norway, with support from the company’s international operations as required.<\/p>\n\n

Pre-established projects<\/h2>\n\n

Olaf A. Hansen, managing director of DeepOcean’s European operations, expressed optimism about the long-term agreement, highlighting its potential to improve working methods and technologies used in offshore and subsea cable repair operations<\/strong> to maximize operational efficiency. Hansen also affirmed DeepOcean’s commitment to support both Equinor and the members of the PRSI Pool in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n

The agreement covers marine services for both offshore renewables and the offshore oil and gas industry. For renewable energy projects, DeepOcean will provide planned and unplanned offshore services related to high-voltage submarine cables. On the other hand, in the oil and gas industry<\/a><\/strong>In addition, planned or unplanned maritime services using remotely operated intervention methods, with or without the use of PRS equipment, will be provided.<\/p>\n\n

In addition to direct services, the agreement also allows DeepOcean to perform engineering or preparation studies as requested by Equinor or PRSI group members.<\/p>\n\n
