This proposal proposes that fuel cells can be cost-effective to manufacture like internal combustion engines (ICE), using low-cost and recyclable materials.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The benefit of hydrogen fuel cell consumption<\/h2>\n\n<p>Intelligent Energy&#8217;s patented IE-DRIVE system<strong> offers a comprehensive solution for automakers<\/strong> as the most compact and powerful hydrogen fuel cell available on the market. This platform, designed and tested by a British company, was presented during an event at Intelligent Energy&#8217;s headquarters, <strong>demonstrating its effectiveness in a sport utility vehicle provided by Changan UK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Intelligent Energy highlights the benefits of its IE-DRIVE platform compared to other fuel cell solutions. <strong>With a generating capacity of 157 kW<\/strong>, it outperforms any other application currently available in the commercial car market. In addition, <strong>its direct water injection technology allows for a heat exchanger 30% smaller than that of its competitors<\/strong>, improving vehicle performance and design.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The company has succeeded in reducing the number of components and the bill of materials of its <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/install-hydrogen-fuel-batteries\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"137627\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fuel cell system<\/a>, which increases efficiency and reduces production costs<\/strong>. The result is a complete system, designed to suit the needs of automakers in terms of design and performance.<\/p>\n\n<p>Intelligent Energy projects that its IE-DRIVE system will cost around GBP 100 per kW by the end of the decade, making it competitive with BEV and ICE solutions. This breakthrough is the result of a four-year project called ESTHER, which was supported by the <strong>Advanced Propulsion Center<\/strong> (APC) and the collaboration of several leading companies in the automotive industry.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New opportunities with the IE-DRIVE system<\/h2>\n\n<p>Intelligent Energy&#8217;s work benefits zero-emission mobility and boosts the potential of the UK and regional economy. <strong>The global fuel cell market for passenger cars and vans is expected to reach a significant value by 2040<\/strong>.
