{"id":140717,"date":"2024-03-26T15:19:08","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T19:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/la-empresa-taseko-mines-la-mina-gibraltar\/"},"modified":"2024-03-26T15:49:43","modified_gmt":"2024-03-26T20:19:43","slug":"la-empresa-taseko-mines-la-mina-gibraltar","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/la-empresa-taseko-mines-la-mina-gibraltar\/","title":{"rendered":"Taseko Mines obtains full ownership of Gibraltar Mine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Taseko Mines announced its intention to acquire the remaining 12.5% interest in the Gibraltar mine<\/strong>, Canada&#8217;s second largest open pit copper operation, from current owners Dowa Metals &amp; Mining and Furukawa.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Taseko Mines becomes sole owner<\/h2>\n\n<p>According to the company&#8217;s president and CEO, Stuart McDonald,<strong> this acquisition will result in a 14% increase in Taseko&#8217;s attributable copper production<\/strong>, while improving its cash flow during the execution of the Florence copper project in Arizona, USA.<\/p>\n\n<p>The definitive agreement involves a payment of C$117 million over ten years for Dowa&#8217;s and Furukawa&#8217;s shares in Cariboo Copper Corp, <strong>giving Taseko full ownership of the Gibraltar mine<\/strong>, located in south-central British Columbia.<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, the contract grants Taseko additional purchase rights by taking back the Cariboo property, potentially resulting in significant cost savings, McDonald noted.
