Iberdrola has signed an agreement with Amazon for the creation of the 159 MW offshore wind farm<\/strong> from East Anglia Three, one of the largest offshore wind farms globally. <\/p>\n\n

This deal extends the collaboration that favors Amazon as one of the largest corporate consumers of clean energy, totaling 54,000 gigawatt-hours (GWh) obtained from Iberdrola.<\/p>\n\n

Moreover, the strategic relationship between the two companies extends beyond the purchase of energy. The integration of Amazon Web Services (AWS) as Iberdrola’s cloud service provider of choice<\/strong>has enabled the energy company to exploit advanced capabilities in the management of smart meter and renewable energy data, taking advantage of the potential of the “smart metering” technology.Generative Artificial Intelligence<\/a><\/em>“to optimize your operations.<\/p>\n\n

This new agreement, announced with enthusiasm by both parties, contributes to Amazon’s impressive portfolio of projects in several countries, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and green energy. To date, the agreements reached cover a considerable amount of renewable energy, demonstrating Amazon’s technological leadership in the transition to cleaner energy sources.<\/p>\n\n

The East Anglia Three project<\/h2>\n\n

With a capacity of 1.4 gigawatts (GW) and 95 turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa, it contributes to the local economy, creating more than 2,300 jobs during its construction and maintenance phase<\/strong>. This wind farm will supply more than one million homes with renewable energy by 2026.<\/p>\n\n

The announcement of this agreement took place at Haizea Wind Group’s facilities in Bilbao,evidencing the global impact of this project and highlighting the importance of international collaboration in the promotion of renewable energies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The deepening of the alliance between Iberdrola<\/a> <\/strong>and Amazon <\/strong>is not limited to green energy procurement, both companies have<\/strong> also initiated the ‘Journey to Cloud<\/em>‘ program<\/strong>. This initiative will allow Iberdrola to optimize its processes and maximize the efficiency of its energy assets through advanced technologies offered by AWS.<\/p>\n\n
